10/27 UPDATE- GIVEN THE OMINOUS  LOOKING WEATHER FOR SATURDAY, THE CEREMONY AND COCKTAIL HOUR WILL NOW BE HELD UNDER THE HEATED TENT OUTSIDE OF THE BARN.

WE'RE AIMING TO MAKE OUR GUESTS AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE GIVEN THIS CHANGE, SO THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR BEARING WITH US :)

IT'S BEEN RAINING FOR A FEW DAYS IN POWNAL, SO WE RECOMMEND STURDY SHOES THAT WON'T SINK INTO THE GRASS (OR HEEL STOPPERS).

Our Story

It all began at Havas Media

These nuptials are brought to you by Choice Hotels! Olivia started at Havas Media shortly after graduating from the University of Colorado (go Buffs!) and was drawn to Ware (and his amazing laugh) from the get-go. Ware and Olivia worked on the Choice Hotels account together for about a year, and what began as a close friendship eventually evolved into mutual love and admiration for one another. After four years of adventure, fun, and love, Ware popped the question at Olivia's family home in Wayland, MA, and the rest is history!

Travel + Accommodations

GETTING TO MAINE

We are recommending that our guests stay in Portland, ME during the wedding weekend! The Portland International Jetport (PWM) is a 10-minute Uber or cab to downtown Portland, where our room-blocked hotels are. Downtown Boston and Boston Logan Airport (BOS) are about 2 hours away by car.

Once in Portland, there shouldn't be much need for a car- there are Ubers and cabs available if needed, but it's a very walkable city!

  • Excited to let us know you'll be there, or that you sadly can't make it? We will take all the advance notice we can get! Please also be sure to RSVP via mail when invitations come out.

Our Favorite spots in Portland

Portland is one of our favorite cities- there is a TON to Eat, Drink, See and Do! When you have downtime, check out The following Spots:

Eventide Oyster Co.

Why we love it >

This famous seafood spot specializes in (unsurprisingly) oysters, lobster rolls, and other creative seafood concoctions, both raw and otherwise. Be prepared for a wait (no reservations), and don't leave without trying the lobster roll. An absolute must while in Portland!

Eventide Lobster.jpg
Union Restaurant

Why we love it >

In the lobby of the Press Hotel, this innovative American restaurant brings fresh, local fare to tourists and locals alike. You can't go wrong with Union for Lunch or Dinner!

Union Restaurant .jpg
The Honey Paw

Why we love it >

The Honey Paw is right next door to Eventide, and is an excellent option if you can't get in there, but totally stands up on its own. Honey Paw melds it's local Portland (read- seafood focused) roots with Asian flavor in unbeatable combinations. The menu evolves frequently, but you can't beat the Lobster Toast (can you tell we like Lobster?)

Scales

Why we love it >

From the team behind Fore Street and Street & Co (Portland institutions), Scales is a well-appointed seafood restaurant on the water at Maine Wharf on Commercial street.

Holy Donut

Why we love it >

Creative donuts galore! Enough said.

Holy Donut.jpg
Hot Suppa

Why we love it >

Unpretentious Southern food that we love for breakfast/brunch but also stands up for cocktails and apps (think Dollar Oysters)

Why we love THEM >

Too many to list individually, but some of our favorite breweries in the area include Bissel Brothers, Oxbow, Rising Tide, and Foundation. Favorite Distilleries:

NEDistilling Tasting Room, Stroudwater Distillery and Maine Craft Distilling

Bissell Brothers.jpg
Various Breweries + Distilleries
Cellardoor Winery

Why we love it >

Fun winery at Thompson's Point (fun Industrial-area where Bissel Brothers is). The wine is solid, but the setting is the best part!

Hunt and Alpine Club

Why we love it >

Portland Hunt + Alpine Club specializes in innovative cocktails using homemade, fresh ingredients. While they have a wide array of pre-curated coctails, you can also have them fulfill your custom-cocktail dreams. Great for a drink + nosh (the food is great as well!)

Additional Info

- We love kiddos, but are choosing to have a kid-free ceremony and reception. We are glad to refer you to babysitters in the area!

- As noted, the ceremony will be outside. Please be sure to dress accordingly, and we'll have a place to store your coat inside the barn once the reception gets going.

- Cocktail dresses, midi/long dresses, suits + tuxes are all great! Stilettos are not recommended as the ceremony and cocktail hour will be in a grassy area.

We're so excited to celebrate with you!
